Tread

Tread is the outer rubber part of tire casing, as a rule, with a relief pattern, that provides road grip of tire and protects it from mechanical damages. The relief part of tread surface consisting of the aggregate of protrusions and channels or grooves is called tread pattern. According to its purpose tread pattern can be road, universdal, off-road and special, for example, tread pattern for mining operation, winter etc.
